Apple Certified Support Professional
Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) is a widely recognised and much respected certification that demonstrates the ability to effectively install and manage Apple Mac computers. The current version of this three-day course is called macOS Support Essentials 10.15 and is focused on macOS Catalina.
Why get certified? An industry-recognised certificate of achievement is not just an ego boost or bragging right. It demonstrates that you have sysematically taken in a comprehensive set of knowledge and retained it sufficiently to be able to answer the majority of questions on that topic correctly. It therefore validates your knowledge and experience and differentiates you in the marketplace.
Who should attend? This course is not meant for absolute beginners. macOS Support Essentials is for Mac users who want to deepen and broaden their knowledge of installing, managing, supporting, and trouble-shooting Mac computers. This three day course includes:
Installation and Configuration
Learn how to update, upgrade, and reinstall macOS Catalina, then set up and configure macOS on an individual Mac. Here you will also be introduced to the command-line interface and macOS Recovery.
User Accounts
Learn how to correctly manage various types of user accounts and user home folders. Also learn about macOS security and password management.
File Systems and Storage
Learn to properly configure and manage file systems, storage, encryption, permissions, and file sharing.
Data Management
Learn about hidden items, shortcuts, file archives, metadata, and Spotlight. Also learn how best to manage system resources and Time Machine.
Apps and Processes
Here you will install, manage, and troubleshoot apps, and manage documents.
Network Configuration
In this section you will learn all about managing basic and advanced network settings, and how to troubleshoot network issues.
Network Services
Learn how set up and manage network services, host sharing, and the macOS built-in personal firewall.
System Management
Learn about printer and scanner configuration and management. Also troubleshoot peripherals, the startup process, and other system issues.
macOS Support Essentials 10.15 is an Apple Certified course and can only be delivered in conjunction with an Apple Authorised Training Provider. Additionally the exam is a closed-book, proctored test that must be taken either with a registered proctor present, or online using the Pearson Vue onVue proctored exam system.
